Publisher's Synopsis
No little bird was roasted in the making of this book!
Tales with an almost always happy ending Cecile Bertod is a rather clumsy and slightly absent-minded enchantress, with a degree-by-correspondence from the famed wizarding school of "Tricks and Potions". Cecile has a canary bird called Gervaise, who hates Thursdays, and a crystal ball inherited from her great-great-great-uncle Astulfus, which can see into the present and almost always gets it right. Like any respectable enchantress, Cecile lives in a little red-brick cottage near a stinky swamp rife with weeds, toads, pink dragons, and frou-frou bats, a remarkable species of bats with a particular interest in fashion and a love of parasols.
