Publisher's Synopsis

Montana in the 1880s was a rough place. Many men of different calibers and ambitions came out west. They also brought with them their women, their problems, and their beliefs formed back east. Some have talked about a code of the west. Some men followed the upbringing they received in the eastern civilized regions of the United States. Church, and more importantly God were the largest part of these belief systems. Some men carried a sense of honor and respect throughout their lives and used it in any situation. Other men however, used the opportunity of a lawless society, and a big empty region to become criminals that had been kept under control back in civilization. Then there were the Black Feet and other tribes of Indians. American perceptions of these peoples were usually incorrect and very stereotypical. The images of 'uncivilized savages' were very incorrect. Were there 'bad' Indians? Of course there were, however, there were so many more of the so-called civilized white men that did things the Native Americans would never do. The Native Americans, only wanted to be free and maintain the way of life they were accustomed to. Whenever two cultures clash in conflict, the stronger culture always wins. So it was with the Native American culture. So it will be with American culture someday. This book tells a story of how these two cultures clashed. It tries to paint a picture of the good guys, the bad guys, and how it was in the old West. I hope you enjoy this book. I really enjoyed writing it.
