The aim of this textbook is to set out the basic and auxiliary principles of the private law of South Africa systematically, in clear language, and as comprehensively as is possible in a single volume. sections of the book have been rewritten in order to take account of major changes in the law (for example, the sections on delict and family law), or simply to improve the original treatment (for example, the section on enrichment). Other parts have also been updated - notably, the sections on property and succession.
