Publisher's Synopsis
"What'd you do when you were a kid?" That's a question probably asked rarely of older folks these days. In fact, it would seem that far too few children know much at all about what their parents' or grandparents' lives were like when they were kids themselves. To address this issue (not too seriously) this small book provides a collection of fun and lighthearted anecdotes gleaned from the daily routines of Jim and Brink, two youngsters of the ancient 1940s and '50s era. Their true tales range from distributing fresh milk to neighbors from the back of the cow that produced it to that of swimming with snakes! These are in no way intended to suggest that Jim's and Brink's experiences were the norm back then although they were ordinary kids but kids with a sense of adventure about them that was fun but which sometimes posed problems. Consequently, when asked today "What'd you do when you were a kid?" they would have some ready and entertaining answers. As reading will reveal, it's apparent why their moms were known to have frequently called them knuckleheads.
