On the 9th of January, 1593-4, Trinity College, Duh lin, was first opened for the admission of students. The foundation of this College was closely connected with the family of James Ussher. His grandfather, Stanihurst, had made the first motion in Parliament for the establishment ofan University in Dublin, and his uncle, Henry Ussher.
