The written word of mankind is a revelatory tool, offering insight into a person, place, or thing. When it's used to express ideas about a person, the reader gains insight into that person's character and, in some sense, comes to know that person. The Holy Bible is God's written Word and a revelatory tool, offering insight into God's attributes and thus revealing God's character. Through studying His Word, a person can learn about Him and come to a greater understanding of His true identity.
