After Maxey releases the body of a stranger called Sylvia for burial, she is determined to publish an obituary for the woman in her newspaper, THE BLATANT REGARD. As her investigations probe more deeply into Sylvia's life, Maxey is also intrigued by a man's death in a mattress store fire, just half a block from her own apartment.
