All that's missing are some private visits from beings who claim to be sent from Elsewhere. In Whitestone, Rory gets her first glimpse into a strange new world-beyond family loss, public school fiascos, homeschooling neighbors and those suspiciously nice kids from the youth group-and discovers that the real battles are the ones you don't even see.
