Publisher's Synopsis
"White Nights" is a short story by Fyodor Dostoevsky that asks a simple question: Is love possible, even temporarily? However, the story, like many of Dostoevsky's works, explores the complex dynamics between people and the pain of the human condition. The protagonist is a hapless young man who is lonely in the urban sprawl. He is shy and has never had a romantic connection with a woman, until he meets a woman he quickly becomes infatuated with.
