Publisher's Synopsis
Inheriting a house from an uncle she never knew she had has certainly changed Samantha's life. There had been rumors the house was haunted along with the land and after hearing the soft beating of drums and seeing the spirits of Native Americans in her bedroom she was starting to think this may be true. Going down to the basement to explore Samantha finds a box with what looks to be journals inside of it. The journals appeared to be old and considering their age it was amazing to see what good condition they were in. Taking them upstairs she makes herself comfortable and begins to read and a whole new world opens up. With the appearance of more spirits Samantha begins to learn the history of the land and of her family. When one of her friends tried to take a journal home to read he was stopped by the spirit of a Native American who shook his head no and pointed back to the house. Samantha soon learns nothing was allowed to be taken off the land. While reading the journals she learns the reason she had seen the spirits of three white men in her bedroom is they would not be granted peace until the descendants of the young women hurt by the men had forgiven them for their crimes. Over time as more mysteries are revealed Samantha finds herself learning the true history of the land and after finding a letter she discovers why the uncle she inherited the house from could not stay on the land longer than a day or two. Samantha called a professor at the local collage to check the artifacts she had found on the land. After arriving and examining the artifacts he told her they were 200 to 300 years old and he would like to take them back to the University for Further Examination. Samantha told him this was not possible nothing could leave the land and when he tried to take two of the artifacts he was stopped by two Indian spirits.
