The contract was plainly set forth she entered his establishment as indoor servant, with duties, personal cash allowance, household allowance, and reason able freedom of movement. Her position only differed from that of the ordinary domestic help by her being joined in holy matrimony to her employer: a rite upon which he had insisted so that she should be his fixed property.
