From the unpopular notion of fun in combat to the questions of God's presence in war, to the overwhelming joys of being a husband and father, these poems are meant to illuminate simple truths to both veterans and civilians.

Cokie has spent well over a decade behind a sniper rifle in service to the U.S. Marine Corps, various private military companies, and the almighty dollar. He has also spent time as a combat medic and a seminary student and now places his identity as a man who serves Christ and loves his wife and children.
