Knowing Ella will ask why he left her, what she may have done wrong and where he has been this entire time, Albert is more than unwilling to rekindle any sort of relationship. After discovering there is more to Albert and Ella's relationship than he ever imagined, Geoffrey - who forms a bond with Ella's granddaughter Madilyn - pushes even harder for them to reunite. However, at 82 Albert does not want to dig up such intense past memories. Plus, telling Ella the truth could very well destroy her, leaving her with even more questions about their past than ever before.
