Publisher's Synopsis

Catalina Blackshire, Arturo, and Dr. Hafeez, a local veterinarian from San Diego are invited to save 40 baby jaguars from animal poachers in the fictitious Mexican city of Olmeca-Itza. While in Olmeca-Itza, Catalina and the team are caught in an unexpected storm that blows the local observatory doors open-allowing three thirsty jaguars to escape. Unaware of the escaped jaguars, Catalina and the team are confronted by angry farmers and animals catchers while they participate in a jaguar poaching protest. Panic breaks out when the jaguars are spotted on the assembly hall grounds, leaving participants frightened and helpless. Catalina saves the evening by getting last minutes instructions from an Olmec priestess on how to calm the jaguars. As the jaguar uproar simmers down, Catalina and Arturo unexpectedly discover family members who are part of an ancient jaguar culture that lives on a mystical island outside of town. Family unity is rekindled as Uncle Willie and his family, Catalina and Arturo are united on Yabreza island, a serene island of beauty, love and peace. Experience the magnificence of the ancient Olmec civilization and the beauty of a family uniting in a distant land in When Jaguars Roar.
