Beaumont, backstrip to first volume printed in black and with paper residue from former shelf-label, the rest with printed labels (browned and chipped) excepting the second volume which is blank, some fading to cloth, light soiling to boards with wear at edges, lower board of third and sixth volume with a little waterstaining at foot, top edges dusty, others untrimmed, first volume with library pocket and ink shelfmark to front pastedown, both pastedowns of this volume with bookseller tickets (Blackwell's and Foyle's respectively) and the flyleaf with the ownership inscription of 'Tatton Bower' (possibly Robert Tatton Bower, later Tory MP), second volume with spotting to endpapers, endpaper designs to third, fourth, and fifth vols, good condition overall
