Publisher's Synopsis
Covid and Long Covid have shown how our immune system can make us feel horrible or kill us. I got a body with a hyperactive immune system that created severe allergies and evolved into Fibromyalgia. This book is about the unconventional tools I use to manage my affliction's lifelong inflammatory pain and misery and its emotional effects.
I thought I was bipolar, but then I noticed that the mild mania followed by acute depression are just symptoms during some reaction cycles, especially from saturation allergies. I thought I was in the autism spectrum until I realized that those behaviors came from being bombarded by the intense sensations created by a defective immune system and the instincts compelling me to social distance from people to avoid infection. Managing my emotions and impulses has always been difficult, and I have wondered if that resulted from brain damage. I took many domestic violence blows to my head as a child and had head hits from martial arts and skiing as an adult. But, most of my allergic reactions create swelling on the left side of my brain, and I observed that the swollen condition interferes with my emotions and communication abilities. Impulse control is much easier when my immune system is quiet!
Maybe you have seen some of these issues and symptoms in yourself or loved ones, and I hope this book gives alternative ideas for coping with your immune challenges. For instance, doctors did not help, so I learned how to use medicinal herbs to provide the specific plant chemicals that my immune system needs to be quiet or to reduce triggered reactions. I consume the chemicals through ingestion by mouth, inhalation through vaporization, and skin absorption with essential oils.
Side note: the book was published six months before Covid-19 hit America. The pandemic has been devastating, but it gave me better knowledge about the immune system and my lifelong cytokine storms. I'm allergic to vaccines, so I'm grateful for the social acceptance of the mask and gloves I wear in public to protect my health and life.
