Publisher's Synopsis

When in college the author wrote a research paper about Solomon's Temple and this peaked his curiosity about history in the Bible. Archaeology proved to him that the Bible is our history. From this beginning the study of the Bible took on a personal meaning. Teaching Bible study was a learning experience for him. "What Christmas Means To Me" looks at how people today see Christmas in different ways. The poem, "What Christmas Means To Me" was written in 1975 for a lesson in an adult Sunday school class in Champaign, Illinois. The author moved to Mooresville, North Carolina recently and met Dr. Terry Moore the pastor of the Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church. The pastor read the poem and his comments inspired the author to share its message with others. The illustrations were created by the author to add his vision to the poem. George Mullins was born in 1925 in Champaign, Illinois and moved with his family to Northern Minnesota. He graduated from High School in 1943 and immediatly after graduation he joined the Navy in WWII. He was an Eagle Scout and Minnesota State swimming champion in High School and served in WWII as Ensign USNR. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Architectural Engineering in 1949. His engineering spanned 43 years and he retired as President and owner of the firm. Reading about Bible history has been a continuing interest along with watercolor and oil painting. The tour of Israel in the year 2000 was the culmination of his dreams.
