Publisher's Synopsis
What is distinctive about Bharat Trivedi's poetry in this collection, as I suppose in his other books of poems, is the simplicity of his style verging on colloquial Gujarati that allows him to draw on his memory of the life he lived in various places, primarily in his native town in Gujarat, and in Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Inevitably, the many years he has lived in the United States play a role in creating a diasporic voice that is bound to seem both novel and striking.
