Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Weeping Ferry: And Other Stories
The path by which the flowers grew was paved. It started from a gateway with squared piers, which had once been surmounted by two big stone balls. Only one now remained in its place; the other lay in the field outside, half overgrown with grass. A short flight of steps brought the path down to the level of the house, and to the left a grassy walk led up to a broad green terrace, surrounded by a yew hedge.
