Publisher's Synopsis
I got fascinated with words from a young age. I am still fascinated today by them because when used properly, they can be used to affect the mind of people positively. Indeed, words are meant for the soul or mind, and they are very potent to this end. This is why poetry is to me, the most persuasive use of language. The aesthetics of poetry empowers the poet to convince people, discourages them from embracing wrong ideals, comforts the distraught, and of course addresses the ills in society. I write poetry first because it is an instinct; by instinct, I feel frequent desire to express my emotions, thoughts, or both poetically. Apart from that, I see it as a duty to humanity. Next, I hope to attain the heights of the greats: Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, Christopher Okigbo, Wole Soyinka, Leopold Sedar Senghor, Sappho, T.S Eliot among others.
