The present work opens up in three extensive volumes the secular songs in the area of change (yodelling, yodelling song, Gstanzl and dance) from the beginning of the 19th century until today. For the first time, the metric categories - odd-numbered (part 1) and even-numbered (part 2) - are taken into account in a differentiated manner in the stylistic analysis. The result is valid for all small forms of this kind in all of Austrian folk music. The collection is supplemented with detailed information on distribution and origin as well as with historical, musical and folkloric information and, in addition to comprehensive sheet music examples, contains a large number of images. 3 CDs complete the documentation. Part 3 opens up the extensive collection with registers of melodies, gstanzl, lieder, yodels and stanzas, bibliography, index and dictionary of the regional dialect.
