Ella Reeve Bloor, affectionately known as "Mother Bloor," friends with the muckraking author Upton Sinclair, was a suffragist, journalist, workers' rights advocate, and leader of the Communist Party, USA(CPUSA). As a founding member of the CPUSA, Bloor already in her sixties hitchhiked across the country to raise money for the Daily Worker, among other Communist publications.
