Publisher's Synopsis
These are the stories of women living life in full watercolor. Life is dynamic and as you navigate existence, you're painting a life's picture. Sometimes we can look back on love mishaps, for example, and just have a laugh. Eight romantic comedy and women's fiction stories for your reading canvas. STORY ONE, ALL HER OWN: Ruthie's always wanted a place of her own, and when the estate agent hands her the keys to her mews home in London, Ruthie feels over the moon with happiness. She didn't totally hate living with roommates who became friends, but it was so nice to finally have her own place. And now she can make more friends in her neighbourhood, perhaps starting with the guy standing behind a famous actor, sort of. STORY TWO, JINGLEBALLS: Who knew doing a dodgy favour for a friend could lead to such joy at Christmas time? It's Christmas Eve and it's a lonesome one for Isla. She split with her boyfriend a year ago and now she really regrets it. As she peruses the sex shops (as you do) on the lookout for a sex toy she needs to purchase as a favour for a friend, Isla meets a strange woman. The woman in question runs a certain kind of boutique that specialises in more than just hot body lingerie. Isla's evening takes a surprise turn and she gets to relive that special Christmas moment from a year ago. The glowing jiggle balls have given her a magical new opportunity. Will Isla make the right decision this time round? STORY THREE, PULLED: Kara's divorce has officially gone through so she's going out for the first time in years. She gets pulled by a hot stranger and experiences her first ever one night stand. A fling is all it was supposed to be but the one-nighter guy seems to be interested in more. It's unfortunate as Kara flies back to the states soon. Since her divorce, the UK doesn't hold very fond memories for her, but could the guy she pulled be the one who brings her back to Britain? STORY FOUR, SISTERLY AMENDS: Julia has gone back to her home town to make amends with her sister. Everything's hunky dory on the surface, but Julia really wants to get to the heart of the matter. And if that means having a heart to heart with her sister, then so be it. She wants her younger sibling to be back in her life no matter what. STORY FIVE, BOOTY CALL: Lauren isn't going to drive all the way to Marcus's house, after he's called her in the middle of the night, is she? Yeah, she does. Silly her. She's a sucker for sweet words from the man who she thinks will make her dreams come true. STORY SIX, DUMPED: Nicola has just finished the photo-shoot from hell, complete with dirty bikers and their sexy model for hire. The last thing she needs is to find her washer has broken upon returning home. Hurrying to the laundrette Nicola reads the note that tells her she's been dumped by her boyfriend of four years. Following that, it's one disaster after the next. Although, Nicola might not mind all the fracases too much. Not when she's rescued twice by a heroic paramedic called Ben. Could he be the one to make her day bearable again? STORY SEVEN, THE PUNCH OF LIFE: Life sometimes punches us in the eyes. When we look in the mirror we look tired and there are dark circles around our eyes. Maybe we just need to find the time to relax. And this single mother is able to do that when her kids actually start helping out around the house. Wonder of wonders. Maybe she can stop looking like she got punched in the eyes. Or perhaps those panda eyes will brighten with a nap. STORY EIGHT, THE SHOW: Della is going on a reality tv show, and Faye decides to join her. And why not? They're both turning forty soon, so this may as well count as a mid-life crisis. The two sit on a panel and discuss whether or not being loud during orgasm results in a better climax. What Faye doesn't discuss quietly with Jake is everything. She's vociferous, he's not. Maybe she should show him why 'loud' is better sometimes.
