Publisher's Synopsis
Based on an unproduced play by German cinema legend Rainer Werner Fassbinder, François Ozon's film is a comic examination of the shifts in power in a four-way sexual relationship. Insurance salesman Léopold Blum (Bernard Giraudeau) seduces young student Franz (Malik Zidi), causing him to leave his girlfriend Anna (Ludivine Sagnier). Six months later, Anna arrives at Léopold's flat hoping to claim Franz back, and Léopold seduces her too. The foursome is completed by Véra (Anna Thomson), Léopold's transsexual ex-lover, who has sex with Léopold and Anna while Franz remains in the other room, contemplating a bottle of poison.
