Publisher's Synopsis
After the destruction of his beloved city, the city of Jericho in "We Have Heard," Nazim has been seeking. He has been searching for the so-called God of Israel since the day he returned to find his world reduced to a heap of rubble. His city, destroyed by a band of Israeli soldiers under the direction of the God they call Jehovah, along with everything he considered dear, has been stripped from him. His home, his occupation, and the only woman he had ever allowed himself to become close to. For years, Nazim has continued to wander, searching for a way to destroy this God or at least to leave Him with the emptiness he now possesses. Finally, his wanderings have led him to the city of Heshbon, another city which had perished, but now rebuilt, at the hands of this God and His Israelite soldiers. When circumstances force Nazim to befriend the family who owns the inn, Nazim begins to discover that the very God he has been searching out for all the wrong reasons, is the very God Who has been drawing him to Himself for all the right ones. How far will Nazim go in an attempt to fulfill his original mission? Will he discover all he longs to know and discover a love as he has never known, or will he forever remain a Wandering Soldier?
