Publisher's Synopsis
William Peterson's 2014 Kelmscott Lecture considers the role of Morris's friend Emery Walker in the setting up and running of the Kelmscott Press, and in particular how Walker's expertise in photographic reproduction processes helped Morris to develop his typefaces for the Kelmscott Press. Peterson shows how Walker helped Morris to blend old-fashioned craftsmanship with contemporary technology, thereby enabling him to create the most influential of all private presses.
