Die Unhaltbarkeit dieser Gleichung ist indessen durch die neueren Arbeiten uber die Aether vollstandig dargethan worden. Es ist namentlich das Verdienst von Frankland und Duppa eine neue Synthese von Aethern aus Aethyl acetat durch ihre schonen und umfangreichen Arbeiten uber die Natriumessigather, festgestellt zu haben. Diese Arbeiten, welche fur diese Richtung maassgebend sind, veranlassen mich naher darauf einzugehen.
