The object of this book is not to gratify a love for sensational adventure, but to show how a life Wholly given up to God's service can be used and spared under circumstances varied and often seemingly hopeless, and in the hope that many may be led to venture something on behalf of that great peninsula of Arabia of which it tells. It shows that the ventures of the pioneer missionary are full of adventures, trying, exciting, and interesting, and should dispel the illusion that his life is all honey and that in far-away lands he gen erally has a good time.
