The present volume unites most of the essays that Reinhold C. Mueller has dedicated to late medieval Venice. They deal specifically with issues relating to the Republic's financial and social institutions, its monetary policy, its system of banking and credit, the presence in Venice of Jews and various foreign minorities, as well as with its maritime dominion.
