From 1932 onward, Varlin, born as Willy Guggenheim in 1900 in Zurich, worked primarily in Switzerland as a painter, draftsman and caricaturist. His preferred motifs were landscapes, interiors, portraits, still lifes, and nudes. This book explores previously unknown facets of Varlin's late work in order to see the artist from a new perspective.
