Publisher's Synopsis
Variant Wars - The Prisoners is a science fiction story that takes place in a post-war civilization on a planet called Trinity. The Variants are feared and exiled because of what they can do. They have extraordinary abilities that set them apart from the Pures. And what makes the Pures so afraid of them is the disaster that lurks in their shadows. The first fire Variant Clara showed the world that her ability could kill thousands. Rickey must now live up to Clara's mistake and prove to the Pures and the people of Trinity that she is not a threat. But with the fire burning in her hands just like it did with Clara, it's nearly impossible for the people to trust her. The Patrol, an anti-Variant group, is hunting Rickey down. And along with Rickey, they plan to take captive and destroy any Variant who crosses their path. John, a healing Variant, does what it takes to protect his people from the Patrol. As the Commander's son of the Variant Militia, the Variant people are looking toward him now more than ever to keep them safe from the Patrol. He's immortal, but how many people will he be able to protect before the Patrol stops him? How long can he fend them off before the Patrol captures and slaughters them all? Teo, a teleporting Variant, has always tried to make his Chieftain happy. When she tells him to search for Rickey, he does so willingly. But he soon realizes that her demand isn't going to be easy to uphold. With Raiders cluttering the Main Land and taking advantage of the Variant people, Rickey will be nearly impossible to find. How far will he go to find her? How long will he last under the brutal wrath of the Raiders? There are other Variants like them; Stella, Felix, Gabe, Opal, Jespen, and more. They all have a price to pay to protect their people. Along with the Patrol, the Raiders, the Vendeni Army, and a world of angry Pures stand in the way of our Variants' freedom. Through loss, hardship, and pain, they must stand up against the Patrol's Guards who are relentlessly beating them down. They didn't ask to be put in this situation where they were fighting for their lives, but they are the only ones left, the only ones willing to make a stand against the Patrol's oppressive empire. They fight for their people's freedom in hopes that one day they will never know the feeling of chains wrapped tightly around their wrists, they will never know what it's like to be called a filthy Variant...
