Two women find more than helping hands. Dia is a half-vampire who fears one of her halves and distrusts the other, but all starts to change when she meets Maybelle, a human blood bank worker about to lose her job. It's been over a year since Dia got out of her previous relationship, as toxic as the one that made Maybelle pregnant. Her pregnancy, though, isn't the expected of a human. Her baby is a halfling, like Dia, and the change it brings to Maybelle's body isn't white and sugary. It's red and savory-the kind of flavor that best suits Dia's taste. When Maybelle moves in with Dia for work, both find more in each other than a helping hand, but with the hope Maybelle brings to Dia's life, so comes what she fears in the night. A visitor arrives for Maybelle and her unborn child. Dia will have to go up against the biting memories that haunt her, but will she be able to bite back?
