The great variation in altitude ac counts for the diversified vegetation in the different parts of the state. Clear mountain streams ?owing into the valleys make the land productive. West of the Wasatch range is the Great Desert region in which lies the Dead Sea of America. The principal rivers of the northern part of the state ?ow into this body of water.
