Publisher's Synopsis
This book is a collection of color images of urban art in the form of objects, signs, architectural designs and decorations, benches, bike racks, etc. They were taken in four cities in Oregon and Washington. The photos reveal attractive qualities of the city that easily go unnoticed and unappreciated when one is not attentively looking for them. Life in urban areas can be hectic, so people often fail to notice the beauty that exists in the city. Perhaps it's because people are too rushed to take the time to truly see the interesting objects that surround them. This book is an attempt to make people aware of art in the streets, and to encourage designers, planners, and builders to create more of it. Beautiful cities are created on purpose and deliberately, not by accident.
