Publisher's Synopsis
This book is a collection of radical black & white images of urban art in the form of objects, signs, architectural designs and decorations, benches, bike racks, etc. They were taken in four cities in Oregon and Washington. The gray tones have been eliminated from the images to portray maximum contrast. Life in urban areas can be hectic, so people often fail to notice the beauty that exists in the city. Perhaps it's because people are too rushed to take the time to truly observe the interesting objects that surround them. The collection is an attempt to make people aware of art in the streets, and to encourage designers, planners, and builders to create more of it. Beautiful cities are created deliberately, not by accident.
