Publisher's Synopsis

A witty explanation of how birds came to fly. The aptly named Fflyte family find birds a real nuisance as does everyone else, for there is simply not enough room for them on the ground. It is only when Mr Fflyte invents a flying machine that the birds learn to fly. The machine, made out of bicycles, balloons and material wings covered with feathers, resembles the birds themselves and they soon copy its actions. Eventually all the birds, except the penguins, learn how to fly.
