For units to rapidly deploy, commanders must ensure their units maintain the highest degree of embarkation readiness at all times. Marine Corps Reference Publication (MCRP) 4-11.3G, Unit Embarkation Handbook, addresses the doctrine, techniques, and procedures for effectively managing a unit embarkation program and planning and executing embarkation operations. In the case of amphibious embarkation operations, a Marine expeditionary unit (MEU) is used as an example throughout.
