Bear glows with happiness after he first meets energetic Jude and glittering Ansley. But soon Bear finds himself lonesome and bored, by himself in the bedroom. "Tick-tock," says the clock, and the night-light flickers out. Right before Bear can sink into despair, the two wildly creative children return from school and teach him about the magical world of make-believe. "Close your eyes and let your imagination soar," Jude explains. "If you could go anywhere, where would you explore?" They are whisked off on an enchanted adventure, and Bear loses sight of what is most important: himself. Ansley and Jude remind him that make-believe is sparked by his own personality and that he should celebrate the things that make him unique.
The rhyming story is told by a teddy bear, the beloved main character. UnBEARably Bored will appeal to adults and children who enjoy books inspired by playtime make-believe worlds, which have a heartfelt message.
