After selling their soap factory in Beirut, the Pelletiers settle in the peaceful French countryside, where they are visited regularly by their three children and their many grandchildren. It is the year 1959, and life seems to be smiling upon the Pelletiers, even if the grim political landscape, domestic and abroad, leaves little room for optimism. But it all changes when, in the middle of the Cold War and at the height of communism, one of their children has to lead a dangerous mission in Prague, behind the Iron Curtain, from which he doesn't know if he will come out unscathed or even alive...
