Publisher's Synopsis
"A wound torments/ the incoherent universe/ with its cold glassy night/ with its incomprehensible second thoughts/ the unpeaceful universe/ like our souls."
ULTIMUM REFUGIUM is a collection of existential, short, often epigrammatic poems, with loss, pain, regret, and guilt as a starting point. A wound is also a fundamental element along with a sort of hard-earned understanding and a renewed contract with the world. In this way, the poet establishes his personal truth. "Next morning/ we must meet again/ introduce ourselves to the world anew/ extend one's hand to the other."
In the long run, there is a shelter, an ultimate refuge, and the outcome and the conclusion of every poetic attempt may retain a healing effect, a soothing quality, through transformation.
To do away with pain, the book advocates the idea that there are no shortcuts to healing save dedication, and sacrifice.
