The stories in this second book in the series occur during visits to a family farm in East Texas in the early 1960s when Jim was nine years old. During several visits that year, he finds his father's family are all intuitive. He sees some of the first unexplained cattle mutilations possibly linked to UFOs, experiences his first UFOs on the farm, dies for the second time, and sees his first animal ghost.
