Triples, Trios, and Triads is composed of short articles and pictures collected and annotated over the years by a person who has studied physics, who has taken the "Journey to the East", lived the late 1960s in Haight-Ashbury, made free-form geodesic sculpture in a Soho loft, walked along the pilgrimage trail by the Ganges River in the Himalayas, and taught in colleges in the Bay Area, New York, South Thailand, and South India. He also drove a cab in Manhattan and worked in his father's hardware store in Baltimore. But there is no numerical mysticism intended for as Sri Muruganar, the great Tamil poet and disciple of the sage Ramana Maharsahi wrote, "This world of triads appears only in the mind like the illusory ring of fire formed in darkness by whirling the point of a glowing rope-end." In the Celtic tradition, we find the triad- "Three types of men do not understand women: young men, middle-aged men, and older men." And Shakespeare gives us this triple: "Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none."What is this book about?
