Publisher's Synopsis

-George and Brenda are two children living in Essex. When their grandmother tells them a fairy tale about a magical kingdom, they have no idea that it is a true story, and she is one of the main characters. The children then stumble upon the magical kingdom and face a series of exciting trials to save the townspeople from an evil dragon, awake the benevolent Green Man, reinstate the true princess, and rid the land of an evil curse cast by their grandmother herself. In their adventures the children meet a flying postman, a mystical princess, a cat-man, robbers with muskets, a talking door, a mischievous trinket box, and a sleeping giant. They ride on an underground railway for mice, go bowling with a vain caterpillar (who cheats), become imprisoned by a narcissistic witch, and much more besides. In the end the children learn a valuable lesson about what is important in life. -----------------------------------------WITH BLACK&WHITE ILLUSTRATIONS--------------------------------
