Publisher's Synopsis
Farming life in rural Aberdeenshire continues for John and Charlotte Grey with a move to a larger farm bounded by the River Don. The transfer is accomplished without incident, but the early months in their new farm are fraught with disaster of one kind or another. A bullock breaks a leg, a cow dies, the water supply freezes up, the overhead electricity cable snaps in a raging blizzard... The instinct for survival must be a primary weapon for all Scottish farmers, and now this Yorkshireman and his wife must prove they have it too.
