And what do we know about purgatory? We know little, but that little is of exceptional importance, and we can know about it with the certainty of faith, the faith of the Catholic Church. Divided into three chapters the present exposition. -In the first place, Saint Catherine of Genoa's Treatise on Purgatory will be for us a certainly powerful stimulus, which will help us to penetrate this great mystery. -We will then compare the doctrine of the Treatise with the teachings of St. John of the Cross, which coincide with it, although not in everything. Finally, the Catechism of the Catholic Church will come to determine for us exactly what our faith about purgatory is.
