It brings these abstract subjects into everyday life application. The book is set up topically but each verse has a unique kernel of truth that should be mined. It was created during times of quiet study and reflection and is a useful tool during your time of reading and meditation. The chapter that is my Great Grandfather's chronicle of meditation contains the same truths but in the vernacular of his time.
