One day a sailor named Billy Bones appears, whose only possession is an old chest. The tavern is visited by a blind sailor the same night Jim's father dies. He threatens Bones by telling him that he and his minions will attack him later to retrieve the chest. Bones dies of apoplexy, product of his addiction to rum. Jim and his mother run away with the contents of the chest and see from the outside how pirates destroy Admiral Benbow.Jim takes refuge in the house of the squire (Trelawney) next to Doctor Livesey. Jim shows them the treasure map he found in Bones's chest and the three decide to look for it. Trelawney gets as crew members Long John Silver, former master of Captain Flint, and Captain Smollet in command of Hispaniola. Despite the Captain's protests about his bad crew, the ship sails. During the crossing, Jim falls into a barrel of apples and, inside him, he listens to the betrayal plans of Silver and other sailors. Jim comments what happened to his teammates who decide to draw up a plan against them. After arriving on the island, Silver and most unfair sailors disembark. Jim goes with them, but runs away and finds a former sailor of Captain Flint abandoned on the island, named Ben Gunn. The Captain, the squire, the doctor and his servants retain the few traitorous sailors who had remained on the ship and take refuge in a fortress on the island. After failed negotiations between both sides, some fighting with firearms takes place in the fort.Jim then uses Ben Gunn's rowing boat to approach (during the night) the Hispaniola and cut the moorings so that the pirates will drift away. The current takes to Hispaniola and Jim's boat. This manages to climb the Hispaniola and control it to run aground on a sandbar. Then, after many adventures, Jim manages to return to the fort. When he arrives he discovers that they have given the fort, supplies and the map to the pirates, they take him prisoner. The next day, the pirates go out to find the treasure, but in the place indicated by the map there is only one hole. Suddenly the squire, the doctor and the faithful sailors emerge from some bushes, these manage to kill some pirates while others hullen. In the end Jim, Silver and the others go to Ben Gunn's cave, who had found the treasure and transferred it there. They load the treasure in Hispaniola and return toEngland.
