Publisher's Synopsis
In March 2020 the borders of the United States were closed to all amidst a world pandemic. This is how one American tried to return to his family, while the world was virtually closed to international travel. 10,000 miles in under a week. The trials and tribulations of an American's quest across the world to return to the United States amidst the COVID-19 epidemic. A true story of adventure.
This is the story of my odyssey returning to America during the Coronavirus Pandemic. This travelogue describes my observations and experiences navigating the many pitfalls and obstacles presented by a modern pandemic. While moving across the world is never easy, the Covid-19 virus created a variety of new barriers to travel, as governments, companies, and people sought to respond to this unique situation. Each had their own hurdles. This book highlights many of them, and how they altered the basic way people travel. Even the most local traveling was adversely affected. This phenomenon extended to all forms of mass transit. I traveled by bus, car, train, subway, airplane, and walking. I shipped all my worldly goods from Taiwan to the United States. Nothing came easy, and resulted in many strange instances, some funny, others dangerous. Journey with me on this epic return, and experience through my eyes and thoughts how the Covid-19 virus affected each one.
