The new Federal regulations for F675 Quality of Life and F679 Activities challenge long-term care facilities to create environments and lifestyles that look more intimately at the needs of individuals. While the expectation that community life will include therapeutic activity programming and services to support the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident, the intent of these regulations suggests the broader goal of, "creating opportunities for each resident to have a meaningful life by supporting his/her domains of wellness (security, autonomy, growth, connectedness, identity, joy and meaning)."
