Publisher's Synopsis
Veredis and Marion are reunited and joined forces with Cassandra's band of mercenaries. Together with Hyndal and Larius, they set out to find a way to rid Veredis of the Taint and set him free from Ciaran's influence. On their way to the Lowlands, Marion's former home, the party find themselves trapped in the city of Overlook by a persistent storm. With the only way forward flooded by the rain, they find themselves face to face with a new threat. To overcome it, Veredis must master Ciaran's power, or lose everything.
